My husband brought home a puppy he could not resist one Christmas and I looked at him like he was crazy. We had just lost our dog a year before from cancer at a young age. The dog was at the pet store for 3 months. Apparently no one was interested in him. He even learned how to sit with his feet a certain way for comfort from being in the cage so long.
So, here he was, my “Christmas puppy”. The dog proceeded to have accidents all over the place and after I crated him, he happily and proudly rolled in the doodoo in the crate. He had a broken tail and when we went to neuter him, he of course had a raised testicle which cost us over $1000. Needless to say, I told my husband he was an “RTV” (return to vendor) way before finding out the price of neutering him.
Can you imagine if God said that about us? Can you imagine if we had no say in it? God loves us so much. You can feel his presence when you open your mind and heart up for Him. I feel Him, I feel Him in our church sweeping past all of us with His warmth and breath. We don’t know what the future holds but He has a plan for us. Just like, well, ….. “George”.
Today, “George” (named for his George Washington look – puffy white head of fur), is the most fascinating, loving, beautiful and funny dog! He is very intelligent and is a big part of our family. Today, we tell ourselves “George is happy, why aren’t we?? “George loves unconditionally, we should too”, “George doesn’t need things that are bad for him, we should be the same!”….and on and on and on. AND, his tail is broken!
Trapper Jim says
Yes, happy as can be, fun loving, and very caring. He is not worldly, doesn’t even know about finances, doesn’t worry about being feed, doesn’t need to drink or do drugs to escape from reality, and doesn’t even worry about health. He is the happiest and fun dog ever and it is all because he isn’t caught up in worldly things. So how happy can we be if we are also not worried about and addicted to worldly things? Well, I am pretty happy and the more I follow George’s approach and grow my Christian life, the happier I become. So George has a broken tail and I have severe and recurring skin cancer (over 150 radiation treatments, plus all the MOHS surgeries, cutting, scraping and freezing that will continue my whole life). Yet as a Christian I know I am blessed and am a very happy guy!
